Visual Identity

Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress

When CRS asked us to define their new visual identity, we began by designing a logo where the Capitol dome—representing exclusive service to Congress—is rendered with energy and movement in a fresh, hand-drawn style.

We then developed a graphic personality for each targeted family of collateral pieces while using common design treatments to present a unified identity for all of the Service’s communications. In the ten intervening years, we have produced more than 100 different projects incorporating this visual identity, including stationery, folders, brochures, invitations, fliers, binders and booklets, posters, research products, recruitment materials and annual reports.
